Alumnae Connections

  • April 2015 – Summer Volunteer Internship Opportunities, from Alum, Hanh Chu, Emissions Data Analyst at Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts:
“If you have any students who would like to apply their GIS skills in a professional work setting, please send them our way.  My agency is accepting applications for volunteer internships this summer and throughout the year.  Attached is the generic internship description.  Generally, students get more details of projects once they are placed with a specific group at EOEEA.  My program at EOEEA, Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) implementation, is looking for summer and fall semester interns to re-conceptualize and redesign our GWSA dashboard website (www.mass.gov/eea/gwsa), but I hear that other programs in my agency are always looking for interns to help with tasks in ArcGIS.  Unpaid internships are always hard on students, but perhaps they can get Praxis funding.  We get a lot of Boston-area students, but it would be great to see Smithies in the office.”
