The CMB offers support for Next Generation Sequencing to the Smith Community. We offer short-read sequencing by synthesis on the Illumina MiSeq and direct long-read sequencing on an Oxford Nanopore MinION.
We’re happy to provide support for project consultation, instrument operation, library preparation and troubleshooting. Please reach out to Riccardo (rracicot@smith.edu) to talk about your project.
Current techniques include:
- Whole-genome sequencing
- Amplicon sequencing
- 16s metagenomics
- 18s metagenomics
- Cut-N-Run
- RNAseq (polyA selection)
- RNAseq (rRNA depletion)
- MinIon Long-read genomic sequencing
For projects not applicable to the MiSeq or MinIon, we recommend performing library prep at Smith and submitting samples to the Yale Center for Genome Analysis.
