SURF and Women in Science

Clark Science Center Posted on July 21, 2016 by mlambJuly 22, 2016

As SURF 2016 draws to a close for many students (last night was the last SURF movie night – Mad Max: Fury Road!), it’s time to draw attention to the summing up of SURF projects. Each SURF participant is required to produce an abstract of their project research. Deadline for submission of abstracts is August 26th. (The abstract formatting guide can be found here.)

WIS_FrontCover_2015A look back at SURF 2015 through the annual Women in Science publication reveals the variety of research and achievements done by SURF Fellows.

  • Women in Science 2015 introduction
  • Women in Science full publication

SURF is the centerpiece of our undergraduate research program. Smith and some of its liberal arts peer institutions have collaborated to describe key elements of successful undergraduate research opportunities (“Grow an Undergraduate Research Program“).
