Overview

The Rock Library contains images and other data for many igneous and metamorphic rocks. Library entries are used as examples and for questions throughout the website. However, the Rock Library is also available for perusal and exploration. Locating rocks in the library can be done through lists, charts, and names. Guidelines for naming rocks are found on the pages with names beginning with IUGS (International Union of Geological Sciences).
