Robert Samples received a BA in Chemical Biology from Wesleyan University and completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Connecticut. His doctoral work focused on development of new computational approaches towards small molecule mass spectrometry with a focus on microbial natural products drug discovery. He started working at Smith as Technical Director of the CMS in 2022 and is excited to work with faculty members and students on research projects as well as collaboratively developing new data science, hardware, and software projects related to mass spectrometry.
