Requirements
Data must be published in a peer-reviewed format. Since all data is published and de-identified, it likely does not require additional IRB review. If researchers want to request permission from their IRB to include their de-identified data within this database, they can use this Draft Letter to IRB.
Data Format
We will need three files in the format described below: PI_Info, Subjects, and Measurements. Our team is happy to help format these files if you simply email Susan Voss (svoss[AT]smith.edu).
PI_Info: Generate a .csv file with columns that match the established WAI database table PI_Info, defined here. Note, there will be one row for one published article, or simply one row per submitted data set.
Subject_Info: Generate a .csv (comma-separated-value) file with columns that match the established WAI database table Subjects, defined here. Note, there will be one row for each subject in a published article.
Measurements: Generate a .csv (comma-separated-value) file with columns that match the established WAI database table Measurements, defined here. Note, there will one row for each frequency of each measurement. For example, if each WAI measurement has 100 frequencies, and there are 5 measurements, then there will be 500 rows.
Submission & Help
Please email us at svoss[AT]smith.edu and include the title and URL of the publication you want to submit to the database. Once we get this information, we will reply with the email address that you can use to send us the three files described above.
In cases where a researcher has trouble with formatting the required files, contact us for assistance. In cases where the information is not known (e.g., age of subject or middle-ear pressure), insert “NULL”.
