Careers at ESRI – ESRI is often hiring, including for entry-level positions.

Geospatial Jobs Substack by Ali Ahmadalipour – Weekly posting or newsletter with geospatial jobs (free and paid subscriptions). Many postings are for data science or engineering, but also includes geoscience, environmental, and other positions.

Geospatial Professional Network – GIS for various applications. Not a very active job board, but still worth checking.

On-campus – Contact faculty for opportunities (e.g., SURF).

State and local GIS and environmental protection offices – Based on where you want to be, look up your state or county/town’s GIS, environmental, or planning office to see if they offer internships.

The Nature Conservancy – Some internships involve GIS.

Student Conservation Organization – Environmental conservation and stewardship positions, most involving a lot of time outdoors. Some internships involve GIS.

Americorps – Stipended “volunteer” program in public service, some involving GIS. These are technically internships, but are geared toward folks with a bc. Smith alums have worked in Americorps positions.

Leventhal Map and Education Center – Often offers geohumanities-oriented GIS internships. Smith alums have also interned at the Leventhal.
