This is my first "official" album, released on MP3.com.
Most of the songs here were written for fun (especially the songs that are instrumentals), so the instrumental back-up sometimes sounds cheesy.
Cheesy or not, however, I'd like to think that this is a good listen, even (and especially) in the more moody songs.
- Bring It On
- Written for some idiot who thought he wanted to pick a fight with me.
It got me really annoyed and I wrote this.
Funny, I don't sound that angry.
- Maztlan
- Written around the 5-in-the-time-of-4 bass line.
The flute part practically wrote itself.
- Who Are You?
- Written about a friend of mine who started acting very strange.
It got to a point where I didn't even know what was going on in his head anymore.
- Get Over You
- The true story of a girl who everyone loved to hate.
And I'm not saying I pitied her.
There was a good reason why everyone hated her.
- We All Fall Down
- I was playing a different song, missed a G-chord by a mile, and got this.
After that, the chords and (barely audible) lyrics wrote themselves.
- Fifth Species
- An interesting romp through different time signatures, where each part wants to stay in a simple 4/4.
- Candy Child
- A re-written conversation about wanting to watch a movie.
It doesn't really make any sense anymore...
- Ayhliyq (The Nanite)
- The musical story about the Queen of the Nanites
- Dial 9 From Outer Space
- The Aliens have taken over the phone company!
Based on the other two Dial 9 songs (see Non-Album Tracks).
- Bring It On (Demo)
- The demo version of Bring It On.
