Support and enhance Science and Engineering education in the region by:

 
1.Hosting field trips.
2.Developing and bringing science and activities to local classrooms.
3.Developing targeted professional development opportunities for teachers

Create opportunities for Smith College undergraduates to explore science teaching by:

1.Arranging classroom observations and guiding lesson plan development
2.Organizing the J-Term Science Teaching Fellowship program
3.Coordinating and matching requests and volunteers to run programs at Smith and in local schools.

Assist in connecting the Smith College community to the local schools and educational programs by:

1.  Maintaining a database of undergraduates interested in Science Outreach.
2.Maintaining a database of Science teachers in local schools.
3.Supporting the college community with the behind the scenes logistics of  transportation, room reservations, permission slips,   child safety policy and waiver of liability forms.
