About John
About John Mayer
John Clayton Mayer was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 16th, 1977. (same town that I was born in!)
He attended the same high school where his father worked as principal, Fairfield HS, and when
he graduated, he began attending Berklee School of Music in Boston. He did not last long there,
because he did not like the curriculum he was learning, so he left Berklee to go to Atlanta, GA.
to start his recording career. John's first album,
Inside Wants Out, was put into limited release by Aware Records, a small company under Columbia, and his first widespread CD, Room For Squares, yielded some of the biggest radio hits of the year it was released. Soon after, John won his first grammy for the single, "Your Body is a Wonderland". His 3rd CD (set), Any Given Thursday, was a double CD set of live songs and some previously unreleased songs from John's concert tours.
John's fan club, Local-83 Listeners Union, was established soon after. His 4th CD, Heavier Things, was a huge hit, giving John 2 more Grammy wins for the song "Daughters". John has barely stopped touring since he hit big, and some of the bands he's toured with include Counting Crows,
Switchfoot, Maroon 5, and Res. John cites Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Buckley, and
The Police as some of his favorite artists, and he often plays their cover songs in concert.

Forms
The form requirement is fulfilled on the Quiz page. I used the form examples on the CSC105 page and adapted them to make a quiz where
you click submit and you can find out immediately what you got wrong, right, and a little comment from me. All of the answers to the quiz
are plainly explained in the About John section of the page.
Cookies
I used cookies when you first enter the page. You are prompted to enter your name and this is remembered even after you close the browser.
I found this script on the Javascript Internet website.
User Feedback
The user feedback requirement is also fulfilled in the Quiz section.
Elements from Project 1
Some of the elements I included from Project 1 are all of the required elements from Project 1. I used one style sheet with some inline
overrides concerning alignment of text and margins. For navigation aids, I used frames for the Frames page,
and I used a table to give the HTML-Only a navigation aid and just added it to every page. I used JavaScript
on almost every page, including roll-over events on the photo page and the left frame. I also used JavaScript to check the quiz results. On the
Photographs page, I have some of my favorite John Mayer pictures. To get the "photocopy" effect on the pictures, I used Adobe Photoshop, as well as on
the Splash page, where the user can choose which navigation aids they'd like. For links, I included links to Amazon.com
for each of John's albums in the Discography section. As well, in the About John section,
I included links to the albums again, and also included some of his favorite artists' websites and other artists he has toured with in the past.

John Mayer
John Mayer
Here is my Project 2 website for CSC102: Interactive Web Documents. For my second assignment, I decided to do a fan site about
one of my favorite musical artists, John Mayer.
On this site, you can find a biography section, a discography, a quiz for fans which will tests knowledge and how much attention you paid to the biography page. The photographs section has some photos that I took when
I went to a John Mayer concert this past summer, as well as some of my favorite pictures of him.
In the design document, you can read about the required pieces of the project and where each is fulfilled within the site.
You can also click on the picture of John at the top left of the page to return to the mainpage.
