2.6 Mineral Assemblage Diagrams.

With the mineral assemblages in hand for the Dutchess County rocks, you are ready to look for possible equilibrium conditions using mineral assemblage diagrams. The ten small Thompsom AFM mineral assemblage diagrams (A. through J.) are possible equilibrium diagrams for the twelve Dutchess County samples you have examined. Mouseover any small AFM diagram to display a larger version for easier viewing.

For each rock, identify which AFM diagrams show the mineral assemblage, check the appropriate boxes below the sample name, and click the "Submit Answer" button. If you correctly identify all the assemblage diagram that include the rock's assemblage, your answer will be confirmed with a "Yes." If not, try again. All the rocks have mineral assemblages that appear on more than one diagram. In some cases, the assemblage is on all the diagrams. If you want to view again the thin section for a sample (with mineral labels), click the "TS" button.
