SDS 390 - Population Health - Data and Analysis

If health was a function of how much money you spend on health care, the US should be outliving every other country in the world. Instead, social, economic, behavioral, and physical environmental factors influence health that are rarely considered in most medical encounters with a clinical provider. Health is socially patterned; to understand health requires a social, or a population-based, approach. We will a data-centered approach to develop an understanding of population health and to apply previous statistical coursework to population health survey data.
