Smith’s facilities management is constantly seeking new ways to keep students, faculty, and staff apprised of changes on campus. Cheryl Obremski is the CAD/Facilities Resource Center Administrator for facilities who has endeavored into the world of GIS mapping to reinvent the way construction information is communicated across campus. She is working on an interactive webmap that documents the construction being carried out in any building or area of campus, including up-to-date images and project completion date estimates.
Now campus will have a go-to place to find out why a sidewalk is closed or when the construction on the side of their building is proposed to finish. The webmap is currently under construction itself, and will be available for public viewing soon.
