The Ismail lab examines novel approaches to remove chemical and microbial pollutants from water in natural systems. We look at how to model and improve the performance of natural treatment systems such as treatment wetlands and bioretention basins. We are also interested in the environmental fate of pollutants and how they can impact organisms within this systems.
