Perkin Elmer Polarimeter MC

The only non-computerized instrument in our department, the Perkin-Elmer MC is still pretty much state of the art in performance, using any wavelength and several lamps, including Hg and Na to cover the spectrum. It could be used to map polarity vs wavelength if you have time on your hands. Read out is by Nixie tubes- 50s tech! We have several different length temperature control cells but the unit requires an external temperature control system and pump. You can download an old paper manual for this baby but be sure to ask for help from camass@smith.edu if you need to measure optical rotation.
