car

The class spans four full days. The first day you learn sketching concepts and basic ideas of how to design and document your idea so it can be made. The second day you'll develop your idea through sketches and CAD. The third and fourth days you will build your prototype. Along the way we will meet as a group to review progress, and in the end produce a final presentation.

Along the way we hope you'll realize a few important concepts.

  • A good design is thought through on paper first, a sketch is your best friend.
  • Design documentation (sketches, CAD, drawings) is your ticket to making something well and fast.
  • Things take longer to make than you might think.
  • Understanding the basics of how things are put together in the real world will open many doors.

You will have full access to the equipment and materials in the CDF. Our focus will be on the Rapid Prototyping equipment. Valuable stuff to have experience with!
