Independent Research

Many avenues for independent research exist in the Geology Department at Smith College. Students interested in participating in a research project with me can do so by participating in Special Studies (400), Summer Research Fellows Program, or Honors Research (430d and 432d), which culminates in a senior thesis. Please contact me if you have any interest in participating in any of these programs. Take a look at some current research projects in the lab.

Field Experience

Each summer, I spend at least a month in the field conducting field-based research. I have traveled to the western United States, southern Turkey, Namibia, and Newfoundland during recent excursions. For students interested in gaining field experience and traveling to interesting places during one or more of their summer months, please contact me to discuss opportunities and funding options.
