Fun With HTML Tags

The basic HTML tags can create some pretty fancy effects all on their own. See if you can figure out how each of the following effects were created, before you look at the source.

Part of a poem

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Some headings

Have sub-headings

And those headings

Do also

And so on

You can change the look of the text, but should use such effects sparingly.

Scientists can use _subscripts and ^superscripts:
E=mc² & H + OH = H₂O
Sometimes _thesecangeta^{littlebitsilly}.

List Types

1. Ordered Lists.
2. Unordered Lists.
   • Was this the first point?
   • Or the second?
3. Definition Lists

   Definition

   A short descriptive phrase giving the meaning of a word.

   List

   To tilt slightly to one side: as a boat.
