This is a half-semester course: it starts on Tuesday March 23, 2010 and ends Thursday April 29, 2010.


Catalog Description: A half-semester introduction to the design and creation of interactive environments on the world wide web. Focus on three area: 1) Web site design; 2) JavaScript; 3) Embedded multimedia objects. Enrollment limited to 30.
Prerequisites: CSC 102 or equivalent competency with HTML.

There is no formal, separate Lab. Instead, the labs are integrated into nearly every class.
Textbook: There is no textbook for this class. Instead we will rely on the documentation online at www.w3cschools.com.
Enrollment: Limited to 30, but I am very flexible—I want to accommodate every interested student.
Enrollment Status:31 in the class 23Mar. I cannot add any more. Please instead investigate Section 01.
Assignments:  There will be three one-week assignments, one per week, comprising 50% of the course grade. There will a fourth two-week Web site aassignment for 20% of the grade.
Quizzes: There will be four (untimed, self-scheduled) quizzes, one per week, comprising 20% of the course grade. They will be based largely on the reading, but not solely. The quizzes will be in Moodle. See Assignment and Quiz Rules.
Web access: name=105, pass=105.
Assignments/Quizzes Schedule: Always due Thursday at midnight (i.e., 12:01AM Friday). This gives us time to go over the material in class during the week, and gives me time to evaluate your submissions by the following Monday.

S/U Grading Option: I encourage you to consider the S/U grading option to relieve stress and just learn. The Registrar's web site says the deadline to change grading option is Fri, April 16th. One can still satisfy Latin Honors with a course taken S/U, incidentally.
