Comments: Taxonomy of the "blue-eyed shags" is still a matter of debate. The birds found in the

Falkland Islands are currently regarded as a sub-species Phalacrocorax atriceps albiventer of the

Imperial shag Phalacrocorax atriceps. Note the wispy crest found in the breeding plumage, orange

desalination gland and pink feet.
