Classes

Smith College no longer has a Geography Department, but that doesn’t stop the growing use of GIS technology on campus. More than 30 different courses have used GIS and / or GPS to some extent since our launch in 1999. The teaching model at Smith focuses on teaching with GIS.  In other words, our focus is NOT vocational training in GIS software.  We engage students using GIS as a visualization and inquiry tool within other established fields and disciplines.  Be sure to visit our People page to view our community!
