Recovering the printhead(s) means that the printer automatically cleans and tests the printhead(s).

If you are not sure which printhead to recover, select All Printheads.

If a printhead requires repeated recoveries, it is probably out of warranty and nearing the end of its life. If you go to the front panel and choose the icon, then Printhead Info, you can see whether your printhead is in warranty or out of warranty, and you can also see how much ink it has consumed.
