Remote File Access: Access your Home directory, Dropbox, etc. via the web from at home or while traveling.
Macintosh users can log in using the same process as they use ON campus, surprisingly enough. Just choose "Go, Connect to Server..." from the Finder menu.
Then enter afp://science.smith.edu or afp://stuff.smith.edu and click Connect. Enter your username and password, then choose Science.Datavol in the dialog.
On any platform (Windows, Macintosh, Linux), you can use secure FTP to access your files.
NOTE: Connect to ftpsmith.smith.edu (not science.smith.edu)
Secure FTP is available as part of the SSH package (it's labeled Secure File Transfer Client in SSH),
already installed on most Windows machines on campus. It's also in CoreFTP for Windows, or with Fugu on the Macintosh, and a number of other file transfer packages.
If you need to install the SSH package, you can get it from http://www.smith.edu/smithsoftware
You'll need to log in with your ~Novell/Groupwise username and password.
