We view the department as very much a community, and, as such, we try to stay in touch as much as possible, keep everyone up to date on events and opportunities, and be sure everyone has the maximum possible benefits from their major or minor. Geoscience faculty and geoscience students, therefore, expend considerable effort to develop these connections. We maintain geoscience major and minor e-mail list, hold informal get-togethers, post announcements and field and research opportunities on hallway bulletin boards, and maintain a geoscience student lounge among other projects and on-going initiatives.
