Campus Orthophotography

Massachusetts Orthophotos are maintained by MassGIS. Full documentation is available on their website. You can also view orthophotos for the entire state with the MassGIS Ortho Viewer.

The Spatial Analysis Lab archives digital copies of all Massachusetts orthophoto images for student, faculty, and staff use. The digital files are in a "MrSID" format to reduce file size. If you do not have a GIS on your system, you will likely need an Internet Browser Plugin to view the files. The Browser Plugin to view these files is available for Windows only - sorry!.

The Orthophotos covering the Smith College campus have been converted to jpeg file format for those just needing a simple image. See below to download, but be warned that the files are larger (~4,500 Kb)
