CURRICULUM

Psychology at Smith is consistently one of the most popular majors on campus.  The Department’s faculty is strongly committed to providing a rich, diverse curriculum to majors and non-majors alike.

The curriculum is structured to develop the skills and objectives set forth in the Department’s Mission.  The curriculum is generally organized around the following tracks of study:

  • Cognitive & Brain Sciences
  • Health & Physiology of Behavior
  • Culture & Development
  • Clinical & Abnormal Psychology
  • Social, Personality & Gender

These tracks of study have been designed into the requirements for the Department’s Major & Minor, and are clearly reflected in the Courses offered by the Department.

If you are considering pursuing either a Major or Minor in Psychology at Smith College, we strongly recommend that you work closely with your academic advisor to choose the courses, research opportunities or special studies that will best enrich your educational experiences.
