Leslie King studies population policies around the world. Specifically, she investigates the types of population policies governments institute and the reasons why policy makers choose to manipulate or control fertility and/or immigration. Leslie is interested in how ideologies of race, class and gender influence population policies. She is also interested in the ways in which social movements, including the U.S. environmental movement, have sought to influence population policy.
