Science Center Schedule

 

Key Entry

Faculty and staff with entry door keys can enter the Science Center at any time.

Normal Opening Hours

All entry doors are unlocked during these hours:

  • Monday through Friday - 7.30am to 5pm

Special Events

Don't forget to submit an "Event Service Request" for any special events you plan. Information on this form will also allow custodians to know about special locking or unlocking requirements. If you have a special request, and are not submitting an Event Service Request, contact one of the Academic Assistant in Burton 115. The custodians will not respond to written notices on doors ("Please leave this door unlocked").

Extended Opening Hours (Door Monitor on Duty)

During extended hours, there are some restrictions on access to the Science Center: only the Sabin-Reed door under the bridge-way to McConnell is unlocked. If entering through this door, you are requested to present your Smith ID or Five-College ID to the door monitor who will make a note of your entry and exit. Any visitor with neither Smith nor Five-College ID is required to have a Smith or Five-College host (with ID) present at the door to allow sign-in as guest.

  • Monday through Friday - 5pm to 11pm
  • Saturday and Sunday - 8am to 10pm

The first day of extended opening hours is start of classes: September 6, 2007

The last day of extended opening hours is last day of the pre-examination study period: May 5, 2008

 

Modifications to Opening Hours

Autumn Recess

Saturday, Oct. 6   1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 7  1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 8  No extended hours (no monitor on duty)
Tuesday, Oct. 9 No extended hours (no monitor on duty)
Wednesday, Oct. 10 Return to regular monitor schedule

Thanksgiving Recess (restricted access only during this period)                            

Wed., 11/21 – Sat., 11/24 No extended hours (no monitor on duty)
Sun., 11/25   1:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Winter Recess                          

Regularly scheduled monitoring hours continue through Monday December 17th (the end of pre-examination study period).

Interterm

This period has a modified schedule for extended opening hours (door monitoring):

  • Monday through Thursday - 5pm to 9pm
  • Fridays - no door monitor on duty
  • Saturday and Sunday - 1pm to 5pm

The first day of Interterm extended opening hours is Wednesday, January 2

The last day of Interterm extended opening hours is Sunday, January 27

Monday, January 28, is back to the regular extended opening hours schedule

NOTE: Martin Luther King Day - the college is closed January 21

 

Spring Break

No extended hours, i.e. door monitoring, from Saturday 3/15 through Saturday 3/22.

Normal door monitoring resumes Sunday 3/23.

End of Door Monitoring

Last day of door monitoring is Monday, May 5, 2007
