Administrative Calendar 2007-08

This is the administrative calendar for the Clark Science Center 2007-08. Please let us know if you have additions or comments to this calendar.

AUGUST

• August 1: Deadline for Beckman financial report
• Develop and post calendar for the following year
• SRF: collect abstracts, SURE survey
• Science Planning preparation: reserve space, identify reps, schedule meetings
• Summer steam: make sure ‘lab steam” it is turned on by the start of classes
• Hire work study students (door monitoring, mail distribution, office admin)
• August 27: Winter office hours start

SEPTEMBER

• Science Planning: announce calendar for the year including deadlines for Goldwater, projects & budgets, SRF program, and space needs.
• Grant report preparation: HHMI, Merck, Schultz

OCTOBER

• HHMI annual narrative and budget reports due
• October 15: deadline for NSF MRI notification of intent to submit proposal (your Science Planning representative has details).

NOVEMBER

• Friday, November 2: Deadline for Goldwater nominations (faculty)
• Friday, November 16: Deadline for project requests (renovation, construction, changes in programming)
• Plan renovation and capital projects for the summer
• Annual SRF report to the Schultz endowment
• Thanksgiving: November 21-23

DECEMBER

• Announce SRF program

• December 17: Science Center holiday party
• Organize J-term door monitor schedule
• Winter holiday: December 24 – January 1

JANUARY

• Organize “All Science Reception” for second reunion weekend
• Martin Luther King Day: January 21

FEBRUARY

• Friday, February 15: Deadline for Summer Research Fellows application (students)

MARCH

• Deadline (end of March): budget application to College Hall
• Submit space requests for the following year

APRIL

• April 1: Deadline for space requests for the following year (department chairs) - please submit earlier if possible
• Open Campus tours, Discovery Weekend (around April 20)
• Work with SRF applicants to schedule summer program

MAY

• May 15: Deadline for Beckman report (budget, GPA, research summary)
• “All Science Reception”
• May 26: Memorial Day
• May 28: Summer hours start

JUNE

JULY

• Summer tours of the Science Center
