Scholarship from Quip
My name is Tooba Qadri and I am a recruiting coordinator at Quip. Quip is an enterprise software company founded by Bret Taylor, former Facebook CTO and co-creator of Google Maps, and Kevin Gibbs, former Google Engineering Manager and creator of Google App Engine and Google Suggest.
At Quip, we emphasize building a company that prioritizes work-life balance, inclusivity, and diversity. Part of it is culture, part of it is hiring, and part of it is community outreach.
As part of this mission, we’re thrilled to announce the second annual Quip Diversity Scholarship! Recipients will be invited to visit our office in San Francisco for a full day of learning, mentorship, and meeting the team (all expenses paid) — and they will each receive $5000 toward their education ($1000 for each runner-up).
By running this scholarship, we’re hoping to have an impact beyond our team and do a small part to encourage students getting started in computer science.
We’re looking for applicants who:
- Are part of a group that has been historically underrepresented in STEM (including but not limited to: Women, African American, LatinX, American Indian, first-generation college students, LGBTQ+, and/or people with disabilities)
- Have demonstrated interest or declaration of studying computer science or a related field.
- Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate and masters student in the U.S. or Canada graduating in 2018 or later.
Please help us spread the word and encourage students to apply. They can apply here: Apply. Applications must be received by April 16, 2017.
