Overview

2-D gel electrophoresis is a separation technique that allows you to resolve complex mixtures of proteins. In the first dimension, the proteins are separated by their isoelectric point (pI) and in the second dimension, the proteins are separated by their molecular weight. The 2-D workflow using Bio-Rad apparatus is outlined below and the center has the equipment to run mini-gels, midi-gels and large gels.
