PSY 111: Introduction to Psychology
--- A survey of fundamental principles, theories and findings in contemporary
psychology.
PSY 233: Child Development
--- A review of theory and research on specific developmental topics: children’s
understanding of their physical and social world, pretense and theory of mind, language and reasoning. Viewed from biological, cognitive and cultural perpectives.
PPY/PHI 209: Philosophy and History of Psychology
--- An examination of the philosophical issues which have troubled psychology as a
science, such as free will and determinism, conscious and unconscious processes, the
possibility of self-knowledge, behaviorism versus mentalism, reductionism and the
relation of mind and brain. (this course is cross-listed in both psychology and philosophy)
EDC 567: English Language Acquisition and Deafness
--- A psycholinguistic account of English language and literacy acquisition of hearing and
deaf children. Both theory and empirical research are stressed, and links are made to
contemporary developments in language and reading assessment and intervention.
(this course is required for the masters degree in education of the deaf).
Over the past 5 years he has also taught undergraduate seminars on Child Language Assessment and on Animal Cognition.
