GREECE PROJECT CHECK LIST

Make the following preparations now!!

US passport: valid through August 2003. Bring two photocopies.

Travel arrangements: completed and JTC notified ASAP. Please note that the
project will pick up costs associated with changing pre-paid airline
tickets for the project in the event of a necessary change from Greece to
New England.

Medications: Copy of your prescription plus an extra 2 week supply of
essentials.  Medications  should be in original containers with a
complete label including the generic or Latin name for the drug.

Medical limitations: Notify us in writing of allergies, limitations, etc

Immunizations:  Check with your health care provider that you are up-to
date on recommended shots for Greece.

Insurance: You must verify that you insurance company will cover you
abroad.  It may be necessary for you to purchase an International
Student ID card. This card includes some coverage for emergency medical
treatment and evacuation if needed.

Glasses/contacts: Bring duplicates and prescriptions

Credit Card: You should have a Visa or Master Card with several thousand
dollars of credit available for emergency usage.

Money: We will provide the room, dinner, breakfast and money for lunch and
all other reasonable expenses. However you will need money for
your own recreation, snacks, purchases, etc.  We recommend ~ $250. The
current exchange rate is ~1 Euro per dollar

Phone calling card: Check out the best deal now, calling from Europe can be
very expensive.

Field Gear: The following ARE ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. If you think you cannot
bring any of these items, please have your advisor call me ASAP.

        5 days of socks, underwear, etc
        Boot socks
        "Wicking" socks
        One Sweater..just in case!
        T-shirts
        Long sleeve shirts ...sun protection
        Bandanna...sun protection for the back of your neck
        Shorts...several pairs
        Long pants...sun and brush protection
        Swim suit
        Towels- three...shower, beach and pack
        Hand soap and shampoo: Not always provided at class C hotels
        Personal grooming materials
        Insect repellent - there are mosquitoes at night where we eat dinner outside
        Personal music and Personal listening device: in case your tastes differ from others
        Food: Your favorite that will not be available on Syros...Gummy Bears?
