From exploring the mechanical properties of tendons to determining the sustainability of building materials, Smith engineering students start establishing their credentials as undergraduates. In our classrooms and labs, they prove themselves as designers, inventors, and leaders. They also make a difference on the Smith campus as artists, athletes, activists, and volunteers.
Some arrived at Smith knowing they wanted to study engineering. Others discovered the field by enrolling in Engineering for Everyone, a class that introduces the engineering design process.
