Vernal Pools hold a variety of amphibians, but they are also the
home of many of other animals.

Aside from amphibians, many other creatures depend on vernal pools to survive. A dip with a net reveals hundreds of daphnia, caddisfly larvae, fingernail clams, water scorpions, snails and other invertebrates.
