Each summer the Chemistry Department at Smith offers a number of positions that enable students to participate in research in chemistry and biochemistry. For instance, in the summer of '08, 19 students did research in the Department with 8 different faculty members. For information on the range of the projects available, click on the research opportunities link in the menu to the right. In addition, the faculty present a series of talks during the lunchbag seminars in which they present their research topics. These will occur on Jan 28 and Feb 4, 2009. The deadline this year for submission of a Chemistry Department application is noon on February 11, 2009. You may obtain a form for the Department application by clicking here. Summer research stipends in 2008 were $3700 for ten weeks.
