Each summer the Chemistry Department at Smith offers a number of positions that enable students to participate in research in chemistry and biochemistry. For instance, in the summer of '08, 19 students did research in the Department with 8 different faculty members. For information on the range of the projects available, click on the research opportunities link in the menu to the right. In addition, the faculty present a series of talks during the lunchbag seminars, usually in late December or early February, in which they present their research topics. Scheduling for summer research occurs in early to mid-February. Summer research stipends in 2008 were $3700 for ten weeks.
