EDUCATION D. Phil. Oxford University, Physical Chemistry, 1997PROFESSIONAL HISTORY COURSES CHM 111: General ChemistryRESEARCH INTERESTS Molecular reaction dynamics. My interests are in the dynamics of molecular processes, with the aim of describing chemical events at the level of atomic motions. Because the most mechanistic detail can be obtained for reactions of isolated molecules, the focus of my research so far has been the dissociation of excited state molecules and ions in the gas phase. My research relies on spectroscopic methods to characterize the internal and translational energies of reaction products. Information about the reaction process comes from the final rotational, vibrational and kinetic energy distributions of the reaction products. click here to visit the lab webpageSELECTED PUBLICATIONS *denotes Smith undergraduate co-author
