Molecular Biology Summer Workshops
Daily Course Schedule
The first Sunday of each course: Due to time constraints and the amount of material that we need to cover, both lecture and lab work will begin on the first Sunday. Check-in at the dormitory will be from 12 noon until 5 pm. Dinner will be from 6-7 pm. At 7:15 pm there will be an opening reception where you will meet the faculty and staff. At 8 pm you will be taken to the Science Center for an introductory lecture, until 9:30 pm. Following this lecture there will be a very brief lab session concluding around 10 pm.
Typical Daily Schedule:
* During our two week courses, there will be three nights that we do not have lecture or lab work. On one of these nights we will play volleyball, and on another we will play softball. Don't forget to bring a softball glove if you have one!!
Lab/lecture on the first Saturday of the course ends at 6 pm to give you an early start for your day off.
Second Sunday of the Course: This is your one day off! We will provide information regarding recreational/tourist activities in the area. No meals will be served on this day.
Last Saturday of the Course: All courses end on a Saturday. There is a lecture/discussion from 9-11 am for computer sequence analysis and a review of experimental results. You will be able to leave whenever necessary on Saturday to accomodate your travel arrangements. The course officially ends around 11 am, and you must be out of your dorm rooms by 12 noon.
