Course Description

Selected Topics in Biochemistry: Pharmacology and Drug Design. An introduction to pharmacology, toxicology and drug design.  The design and pharmacology of several drugs will be examined in detail, and the computational software used to design a drug and model the drug and its binding site. The ethical and legal considerations of drug design, manufacture and use will also be considered. Prerequisite: BCH 252b, or permission of the instructor.  Offered in altenate years; next offered in spring, 2009. {N} 3 credits. David Bickar
