DataFest is almost here!

This year’s ASA Five College DataFest is fast approaching! Over the past two weeks, we’ve been getting the word out about this great event.

At Hampshire, students are forming teams and spreading the word. At Amherst, students and faculty are gearing up through a series of workshops about working with data. At Smith, two participants from last year discuss their experience and advice. At Mount Holyoke, a new partnership with MassMutual and Smith for Women in Data Science is underway. And at UMass, a small army of Graduate Researchers interested in Data (GRiD) — a group that formed as a result of last year’s inaugural DataFest — is working with the organizers to provide support all through the weekend.

We, the organizers, are excited about all of the local interest in DataFest. We’re especially grateful to MassMutual for sponsorship, and to GRiD for their support.
