Northampton High School, Northampton, MA This is the second round we went to the NHS for teaching taster lab. The first one went so well that they wanted us back! This time, we taught 100 ninth-grade biology students. It's been an amazing experience for both Smith and NHS students. We made "The Gate" of the Smith College website! We made the Gazette Net news! Lots of pictures are posted at the Smith College website. Hotchkiss School, Lakeville, CT Wen and Jillian went to this beautiful campus and inducted a one-day event including both lab and lecture sessions. 36 students from junior and senior year participated DNA fingerprinting analysis lab and PTC taster genotyping lab. We are in the Hotchkiss News. Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT Simon Holdaway and 19 of his students from The Loomis Chaffee School visited Smith College again. Sandra Laney gave a talk on variety of research opportunities at Smith College; Wen Li and Judith Wopereis gave presentations on the CMB and CMI individually; Lauren Robertson (09') talked about life from Loomis Chaffee to Smith. The students then toured the CMB and CMI facility afterwards.
Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, CT Simon Holdaway and 21 of his students from The Loomis Chaffee School visited Smith College. They toured the CMBS, see the Microscope facility and chat with Smith undergraduates.
Groton Dunstable Regional High School, Groton, MA Melissa Hult and 15 of her students from Groton Dunstable Regional High School visited Smith College, to learn about the CMBS, to visit the Microscope facility and to perform a mini-sequencing lab.
Northampton High School, Northampton, MA Two local high school teachers, Susan Lincoln from Northampton High School and Tara O'Brian from Hampshire Regional High School and their students joined us for the Life Science Student Research Symposium. |
