On Apr. 8th, the day that the “super moon” occured, I went out in the yard of my house and took this picture. It’s not indeed “super” compared to other super moon pictures I can see on the internet. But it did look bigger than it usually is.

On the same night, I also captured Arcturus in Bootes and Spica in Virgo. Together with Denebola in Leo, they are called the Spring Triangle. In the following picture, Arcturus is at the upper part, and Spica is near the bottom of the picture. On the right is the moon.

I took both pictures with my iPhone. There is a severe light pollution in where I live, so normally it can be very hard to see any star even though the sky is clear. Luckily, this is the first time I saw and recognized Arcturus in my city! It’s my favourite star, and it shines very brightly in spring so now is the best season to observe it. Hope you also enjoy the view of this beautiful star!
